Inaccordance with the suggestion made to writer, who called at your office this morning, we beg to advise cable
just received from our New York House reading as follows:-
"Advised Foreign Office placed us on black list cause "unknown British Consul here has cabled stating we are "conforming to regulations only shipping to firms "approved also stating agreeable comply rules issued
Foreign Office see them immediately give any assurances necessary secure removal our name cable if can and any "way.
The writer would like to say that he is anxious to comply
as promptly as possible with these instructions, and trusts
you will see your way to put him in possession of the facts
with regard to your complaint, in order than he may know what
the trouble is, and satisfy you (as he believes he can) and
give assurances if necessary. We here have no confirmation
of the report referred to, nor are we aware of any circum-
stances which would be likely to influence you in taking
such a step. You will, however, appreciate by the terms of the
cable, that whatever the cause of the trouble, it is the
Gesire of our Head Office to put matters right, and we have
their authority to do anything that is necessary to secure
the removal of their name from the black list, if the report
is correct.
With this object in view, the writer is at your disposal
at any time.
